A popular little Leyton restaurant serving informal Portuguese food. It's been an east London fixture for nearly a decade now, with the family behind it partial to a warble or two – there's karaoke most Friday nights. Food remains the focus, though.
The majority of the menu is Portuguese, with dishes including calamari, octopus with olive oil and paprika, fried pork fillets in a peri-peri sauce and “bacalhau” - a Portuguese dish of dried salted cod fried and topped with clams and a king prawn in an onion and pepper sauce. Crowd-pleasing Italian pasta dishes also feature. Keep an eye out for live music nights, as well as sports screenings.
No-nonsense Portuguese gastronomy infused with a few modern touches and a great peninsula vibe in the dining room. Discover an authentic taste of Portugal in Leyton, east London with real Portuguese hospitality.
Popular fish and seafood dishes include octopus grilled and drizzled with warm olive oil and garlic, seafood rice often filled with clams, mussels, crab and squid, or “bacalhau” - dried salted cod fish and cataplanas. A house favourite – our mighty steak “Bife á Oceano” – is layered with ham, cheese and a fried egg, and finished with our signature cream sauce. “Picanha” - a signature Brazilian rump steak is also available, alongside “Carne de Porco á Alentejana”, a dish from the Alentejo region, of diced fried potatoes topped with pork and clams in a white wine sauce. A diverse selection of Portuguese wines is available. Caipirinhas and fruitier, lighter options are available in the form of sangria. On a sweeter note, regular dessert fixtures include homemade house dessert - comprising indulgent layers of biscuit, cream and our signature, sweet custard, chocolate mousse, mango and coconut pudding, “pudim caseiro” (flan) and “pasteis de nata” or the traditional Portuguese custard tarte, amongst many other specials. Live “fado” and music nights also feature.
