Welcome to El Gato Negro, our home in Manchester is a historic three storey townhouse on King Street, in the heart of the city.
Beautifully converted, it opened in 2016. The ground floor features al fresco pavement dining, and an evocative bar and dining space. The middle floor offers a mix of restaurant table and seating options, plus the chef’s table for extra thrill and theatre by our open kitchen. The top floor features a stunning terrace with retractable roof.
Chef patron Simon Shaw and the team are renowned for creating simple, bold and confident tapas dishes. Informed by what’s fresh and in season, they takes the best of modern and traditional Spanish flavours and techniques, while drawing on inspiration and ingredients from closer to home.
The result – whether you’re eating casually at the bar with a drink, or enjoying a more extensive dining experience in our restaurant – is brilliant, balanced and exciting food which evokes the magic of Barcelona, Madrid and San Sebastián.
