The Fontmell
Fontmell Magna, Crown Hill ,
Shaftesbury, Dorset, SP7 0PA

The Fontmell has the sort of bar you will never want to leave, with an open fire & window seats a plenty tucked into corners of the bar, a restaurant dining room adorned with vintage wine paraphernalia and six beautiful bedrooms.
The pub extends over Collier’s Brook, Fontmell Magna’s village stream, which flows between the bar and the dining room. When the windows are open the babbling brook creates a serene environment in which to eat and relax.
The Fontmell is the perfect place to stay for a weekend away in North Dorset or to accommodate friends who are visiting the area.
We look forward to welcoming you soon for a drink, to stay the night, or to sample our stunning food. We use seasonal and local produce wherever possible and have developed excellent relationships with their suppliers. Our house beer, Sibeth Ale, is brewed especially for us at the nearby Keystone brewery. The menu is varied and changes daily, but the emphasis is always on using the region’s best growers and producers.
The Fontmell was carefully restored and extended some 12 years ago, introducing a fine dining ethos while still maintaining the pub’s connection with loyal locals, creating its relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Our dining room is the perfect location for an intimate dinner for two or a celebratory meal for a larger group.
“A boutique hotel with beer taps”, this pub conversion in Dorset is a notch up from most of its ilk. It has been cleverly reimagined, with the village stream running between the bar area and the new dining room. Expect comfy beds in rustic yet contemporary rooms. ” - The Daily Telegraph
